Hi, I’m John Watt—the frog behind the name. Numbers have always been my passion, and now I’m bringing that love of accounting into a boutique firm built on stewardship, clarity, and fair pay.

Who’s Behind the Frog

My nickname “Frog” goes back to when I was 16. I loved spending long hours in the water during summer, and one day a lifeguard challenged me to a race across the swimming hole and back.

He hadn’t seen me swim before, and when he noticed my large frame, he joked about giving me a head start. I told him I’d give him one instead. He got a quarter of the way out before I started, but I still beat him there and back.

Afterwards, he laughed and said, “For a big guy, you swim like a frog.” A friend overheard, and from that day on, the nickname stuck.

I’ve enjoyed working with numbers for years, earning formal degrees and certifications along the way. When I started my bookkeeping firm, I wanted a name that reflected both who I am and how I work—resilient, adaptable, and memorable. That’s how Feral Frog Bookkeeping came to life.
